Grief and Her Lady
“Perhaps it is best to invite Grief in, and let her enfold us in her Great Black Wings.”
We need to not only accept the grief we will inevitably feel in our life, but also accept the grief that will be felt by those we leave behind. This piece represents the moment when we succumb to Grief and let her envelop us. The two figures were made with wire, clay, linen, antique fabric and lace. From head/wing to the tip of their dresses, they are 44 inches high. They have been created to sit together, and they are holding hands.
